Jenny’s Little Ranch Hands Summer Camp Activities

Ages 5-12

Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:30pm

Each day campers will learn about a new farm animal.

Mondays-Chickens, Ducks

Tuesdays-Pigs

Wednesdays-Sheep and Goats

Thursdays-Beef and Dairy Cattle

Fridays-Horses

 

Our Daily Schedule will include the following (weather permitting)

7:30-8:15-Breakfast/Welcome

8:15-8:45-Safety and Rules/What are we learning today?

8:45-9:00 am-Walk to Barn

9:00-10:00 am Chores-Feeding/watering/observing.

10:00-10:15-wash hands/break time

10:15-11:15-Interactive sessions with Animal of the day

11:15-11:45-wash hands/clean up and walk to camp house.

12:00-1:00 pm-Lunch

1:00-3:00pm-Crafts/Animal of the day lesson/Free Time/speakers

3:00-4:00pm Ranch Walk/Arena activities

4:00-5:00pm- Evening Feeding and watering

5:00-5:30-Clean up and wait for pick up.

 

 

Some of our fun and informational daily activities will include:

• Dummy Roping

• Stick horse barrel races!

• 4-H Speakers, Farrier Demonstration, Sheep Shearing

• Irrigation Projects

• Tools and how they are used on the farm

• Basic equipment care (tire change/oil and fluids check)

• How we treat animals for illness or how we use preventative measures 

• Safety around livestock

• By-Products from each farm animal are highlighted and used each day.

• Gardening

• And much, much more…………..

 

 

Camps are held at 6401 Stage Road (Hwy 14), Loachapoka Alabama and campers walk directly over to Britton Family Farms on Day Lily St. to care and interact with the farm animals.
